Address of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia H.E. Ilia Darchiashvili

Congratulations on the Diplomats’ Day!

Today, once again, reminds us of the rich experience of the Georgian Diplomatic Service, as well as the special mission, which has always been shouldered by our diplomacy, continuing today and into the future.

It is symbolic that we celebrate our professional day on the birthday of the Georgian statesman and diplomat, Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani, which underscores the main cornerstone of our foreign policy, as well as the historical choice of the Georgian nation to fully reintegrate into the European family of states.

Overcoming existing challenges along the aforementioned path, you bear a mission of great magnitude and, I am convinced, that the team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to successfully achieve outlined goals and tasks in the coming future.

Along with the central apparatus of the Ministry, acting as a holistically united team, I would like to extend particular salutations to the Georgian Diplomatic Missions based abroad, as well as each and every individual diplomat, who defends Georgia’s interests far away from their family and home.

I would like to reiterate my gratitude to everyone for the provided service, wishing you success in your future endeavours.
